My Story

Weaving is Rita’s passion.  Having always been fascinated with fabrics, Rita began her career as a self-taught weaver.  Her first loom was purchased in 1977.  She has owned six looms, ranging from a 45” 4-harness loom (her “workhorse”) to a small, portable inkle loom for weaving narrow bands.

She began with the humble placemat and has ventured out into garments of skirts, blouses, sweaters and outerwear of ponchos, cocoons and ruanas. Necklets are her latest creation, woven with an exquisite Italian yarn. Color, texture, and a luxurious hand are foremost in the creation and design of each of her distinctively unique pieces.  Her handwoven originals are sophisticated and classic, making a bold statement of colorful, wearable art.  Her use of high quality yarns ensures colors remain vibrant and true.

When you purchase a select, handwoven piece, please know that Rita does all the work.  She weaves, and tailors each piece into wearable art.  Delivery could be up to four weeks dependent upon current stock and yarn on hand.  So please, be patient and appreciate the timeless craftsmanship that goes into all her work.
